Coal: One Of The World's Limited Resource
In the first unit of my FUEL class, I learned about non-renewable resources and how it affects our lives. Throughout the course, I learned many things that correspond with non-renewable resources such as the molecular, chemical, geometric composition of these resources. The unit was filled with equations, graphing, and how they relate to the price of a resource. For this action project, I was told to research a specific non-renewable resource and create a presentation that will predict the price of that specific resource. I decided to choose Coal. I found this very interesting as I got to understand its role in our lives and how it gets to our homes. I had to create multiple equations for this presentation using historical data to predict the consumption level. I found the material taught to be fascinating from the math to learning about coal and how what was very interesting was how applicable it was for this presentation. The presentation allowed me to explore our consumption of coal and how math can be useful in determining the consumption level. I felt that when creating this presentation, I had to be very meticulous and careful in not inputting incorrect equations. Otherwise, it would result in various incorrect solutions. Overall, I am proud of what I created.
