What I Believe In

The purpose of this Action Project was to find what I believed and to express it while searching how I am. We had to decide a belief that we live by and I decided to choose Honesty. During the Unit, we extensively researched the meaning of Truth and we had to incorporate it into the podcast. I learned to create a podcast and I found this to be interesting. What I felt was the most challenging was having to transport my emotions and thoughts into words to communicate them accurately. The reason this was challenging was that I was never the type to able to express my feelings very well with words. I am very happy with the way my podcast turned out and I am proud of it.

As I’ve reflected on my short life, I’ve found that my beliefs have impacted much of it. I notice through my actions that they are based upon beliefs that personally fit my mindset. For example, I believe that I keep my promises. Actions can follow upon this belief because I’ve convinced myself. I feel that living my life according to my moral, philosophical, and spiritual beliefs cause me to shape my own lifestyle. I’ve also explored the true meaning of truth and my belief of honesty.

Through my experiences and what factors were presented I’ve come to realize how important honesty is to me. I believe in honesty in a way that impacts me the most. Honesty can come in many ways such as helping someone fix their problems by pointing them out or expressing your feelings to benefit your relationship. For me, honesty to myself and to others has not only helped me but helped others. Honesty has transformed me as a person as I recognize the transparent and hidden meanings of within myself or of an idea.

I feel that what makes me believe what’s right or wrong are the experiences that ultimately decide my beliefs. When I was very young there were experiences with other kids who would lie to their parents. In result, they were usually punished, which I knew that I did not want to follow. Another reason that I believe that honesty is important is because of its implications of what it has done to my life. By experience, I would face a challenge and sometimes I would fail or succeed. I knew that by being honest with myself I could improve on my failures instead of being ignorant and badly lead to a repeating cycle of failures.

When I was younger, I wasn’t aware of the way honesty could affect someone’s life. It hadn’t hit me then that I should be honest to both myself and others. I did not value honesty as I do now, but now as I reflect back, I saw that I had to learn in order to understand. These experiences were lessons that impacted me like no other thing could. Having these lessons made me change for the better and now I benefit from honesty. Truth as defined by me is having a deep understanding of looking with transparency at all aspects, whether good or bad. The idea of truth transformed the way I live and how I look at the world.

As I conclude this podcast, I would like you to think about what I told you on the idea of truth and honesty. Those two are very important characteristics that can change your life. Reflecting on your mistakes or communicating your thoughts is a big part in trying to become a better person. I truly hope that I changed your perspective and influenced you to become more honest and truthful.
