The Siamese Fighting Fish
In unit 2, of my Population class, I learned a lot about the evolution of life on earth. I also was able to study the scientific process and how scientists are able to test a theory that they might have and prove it to be true. In addition, I learned about many math concepts such as statistics, how to calculate the standard deviation of a population, combinations, and how to categorize groups of populations. I felt that while this unit was filled with a lot of information, I learned so much and enjoyed it. I was assigned a project to choose a species and study its population. I decided to choose the Siamese Fighting due to their beautiful scales and their tendency to become aggressive. In addition, they also live in a wide range of temperatures in the water. So, I arranged the data in a group that separates the fish between temperatures.

Combination and Permutations: Combinations and Permutation are the way sets are arranged. A combination is an order of things when order does not matter. A permutation is an order of things when order does matter. I had to choose 2 groups that are most likely to live the longest out of the 10 that possibilities. I decided that the combination method was the most suitable for the fish because the order did not matter.
