1933 Series of Massive Bonfires: Nazi Germany and Censorship

In the second unit of my Forbidden Books class, I was able to learn the reason why books have been forbidden for dogmatic reasons by using and reading The Koran and The Bible. In addition, I was able to understand how conflict may arise from dogmas and how teachings may be interpreted differently between people. By reading both The Koran and The Bible, I was able to open my eyes and view how people are influenced and why they may live by these two different religious books. I also learned the history of the two books and took away many lessons from the Bible that I felt valuable.  For my action project, I was tasked to choose a censorship history case and research the history of the case. I choose the 1933 Series of Massive Bonfires of Nazi Germany. The reason I choose this event was due to the fact of my curiosity about World War II. I was also tasked to create a slide show. I felt that the most challenging aspect of this project was researching the event and creating a slideshow that was immersive and understandable. However, I felt that I successfully was able to create a presentation that is both easy to understand and visually appealing. Overall, I enjoyed this action project and hope you will too!
